“Hot Rod Movie Night : Volume 4” is the fourth DVD in our series featuring full length
films from the 40’s to the 70’s. In “Volume 4” we feature punks with hot rods!
We use dual-layer discs in order to get 3 full length movies on one DVD without
any loss in quality, and like all our discs, they are burned in an NTSC format,
and will play on all DVD players around the world.
Thunder Road (1958) – 92 min
Robert Mitchum (who also wrote the story and served as executive producer) stars in Thunder Road as
Lucas Doolin, a Korean War veteran who returns home and promptly rejoins the family’s bootlegging
business. His father runs the still and heads the family, while Lucas handles the driving and transporting of the
moonshine, and his younger brother takes care of the car he uses to outrun the competition and the Treasury
agents. Lucas is a better driver than anyone around, and he and Robin have rigged a few tricks on the car
that surprise the Treasury men. This movie achieved cult status (especially in the Appalachia region) when
released, and contains some excellent acting. (b&w)
The Choppers (1961) – 66 min
A gang of teenage delinquents terrorize a small community by stealing cars and
stripping them for parts, then selling the parts to a crooked junkyard owner. The
police and an insurance company investigator set out to break up the gang. (b&w)
High School Caesar (1960) – 71 min
Matt Stevens is the big man at high school. He sweats the students for protection money, acquires copies of
tests for a fee, and has rigged the votes so he can beat Kelly in the election for student president. Aside from
his anointed acolytes, Matt is almost universally despised. His parents are obscenely rich and spend their time
travelling in Europe rather than giving him the parental guidance he needs. Things begin to get ugly when some
of the teens resist his power and show Matt up at the drag race. (b&w)
