Hot Rod Movie Night #2

“Hot Rod Movie Night : Volume 2” is the second DVD in our series featuring full length
films from the 40’s to the 70’s. In “Volume 2” we feature hot rod themed movies!
We use dual-layer discs in order to get 3 full length movies on one DVD without
 any loss in quality, and like all our discs, they are burned in an NTSC format,
and will play on all DVD players around the world.

Hot-Rod Girl (1956) – 74 min
After his kid brother is killed in a street race, a champion drag racer quits racing. However, a new kid
comes to town determined to force him back into racing so he can take his title, and he’s already taken
his girlfriend. Featuring Lori Nelson as the girl, Chuck Connors, who would later go on to fame as TV’s
“The Rifleman”, and Frank Gorshin, who would later become The Riddler on the 1960’s TV series
“Batman”. Features some good dragstrip scenes, and lots of hot rods. (b&w)

Teenage Thunder (1957) – 77 min
Standard teenage romp….a young gas station attendant is obsessed with hot rods and racing, and
his dad objects. The teenager enters several big races and eventually wins the BIG race. Title song
“Teenage Kisses” is sung by country artist David Houston. (b&w)

Hot Car Girl (1958) – 79 min
Not a lot of actual car racing in this one, but does feature a race through the California hills with a
Mercedes. Instead of working for a living, Duke and Freddie steal auto accessories and sell to a fence.
While Duke is out driving with his girl Peg, she tries to dissuade him from a life of crime. Angered, he
taunts her with another girl, Janice, who has driven up alongside him, and they have a race. A motorcycle
policeman who is chasing them is killed when he crashes into Janice’s car, and she is held. Duke, who has
driven off, paints his black car light blue to escape detection. Janice learns his license number, and in fear
of being discovered, Duke kills her. Duke coerces Peg to leave town with him, committing holdups along
the way. Realizing his luck will not hold out, but unwilling to surrender, Duke sends Peg back and remains
alone in an abandoned roadside fruit stand, awaiting his fate.  (b&w)
