1988 NHRA Season Review (107 min)
1988 was an amazing season in NHRA drag racing and featured some of the closest side-by-side racing in NHRA
history. Records continued to fall from the 1987 season, including the first ever sub 5-second pass in NHRA history
when Eddie Hill cranked out a stunning 4.99 at the Texas Motorplex on April 9th, 1988. It’s great to see reactions
from drivers who are told their et’s (and occasionally whether they even won the race!) after they emerge from their
car by commentator Steve Evans. Joe Amato would go on to win the Top Fuel Championship, Kenny Bernstein would
capture another Funny Car title, and Bob Glidden would battle his arch rival Warren Johnson all year, with Glidden
winning another championship. Another excellent Diamond P production, with host Steve Evans.
