Guts And Glory : Volume 4
1962 Atlanta 500 - Version #1  (color - 8 min)
An excellent (but short) highlight reel of the Atlanta 500. This film was produced for
Perfect Circle, and is called "Victory Circles". Fred Lorenzen wins in a rain shortened race.

1962 Atlanta 500 - Version #2  (color - 28 min)
Coverage of the same race (1962 Atlanta 500), but this film is much longer, and was produced for Ranco Piston Rings.
Titled "The Face Of The Race", this is excellent footage, with many bumper camera shots (apparently taken by a camera
car and made to appear as though you were seeing live action). Superior quality, and lots of 1962 Pontiacs.

1964 Firecracker 400  (color - 11 min)
Richard Petty is dominant, leading 103 laps before blowing his Plymouth blows its engine. His uncustomary
early exit leaves a couple Dodges to fight for the win. It's A.J. Foyt verses Bobby Isaac, with Foyt pulling
out the victory right at the wire, winning by just a few feet. Very clear footage.

1969 Daytona 500 Highlights  (color - 9 min)
These highlights of the 1969 Daytona 500 are clear, and while you can hear the engines roaring,
there is some incidental music in the background. The footage is from the original ABC Wide World
Of Sports broadcast. Lee Roy Yarbrough takes the win.

1969 Dodge Promotional Film - "The Chargers"   (color - 24 min)
An excellent Chrysler Promotional Film on their 1969 Dodge Charger NASCAR entries. The Dodge Charger team in 1969
consisted of Bobby Allison, Bobby Isaac, Buddy Baker, Paul Goldsmith, and James Hylton. We see the testing, prep work,
and attention to detail that these teams put into their 1969 Dodge Charger race cars.

1960-1971 - Golden Era Of NASCAR  (color - 62 min)
Part of an excellent 3-volume set on the history of NASCAR's early days, we extracted the 1960-1971 era for this DVD.
Great documentary, with an emphasis on Junior Johnson, Bud Moore, technical advancements, TV coverage, and the
increasing popularity of the sport. Many comments from racers (and race car builders) of the day.
NOTE : These are NOT the "Back In The Day" programs (hosted by Dale Earnhardt Jr.) that appeared on
SpeedChannel a few years ago. Please understand that these highlight reels were originally shot on FILM, not
video. I am trying to be as honest as I can about the film quality. These films were originally intended for the
smaller TV sets of the 60's, so they may appear grainy on the big TV sets of today.
1-DVD : 145 minutes                         Quality : Excellent
The 4th volume of our popular "Guts And Glory" series, another 2+ HOURS of
vintage highlight films from the turbulent 1960's era of Stock Car Racing!
