|1960-1969 Formula 1 Highlights - Volume 3
|1-DVD : 148 min. Quality : VG+ to Excellent
|Continuing our series, another 2.5 hours of highlight films
from the fabulous 1960-1969 era of Formula 1!
|1962 Belgian Grand Prix - (26 min) - color
An excellent film of the 1962 Belgian Grand Prix from Spa. This was the 3rd
race of the 1962 season, and Jim Clark takes the win. Very clear color footage.
|1965 Dutch Grand Prix - (21 min) - b&w
Edited LIVE highlights of the 1965 Dutch Grand Prix. This is from an original live
TV broadcast, and was shot on video, not film. This was a rebroadcast by ESPN
many years ago, and the footage is quite good (although b&w). Jim Clark takes
the win in his Lotus 33, while a young Jackie Stewart is impressive in his BRM
P261, coming on strong at the end to take 2nd place over Graham Hill.
|1965 German Grand Prix - (29 min) - b&w
An amazing piece of footage! Like the last reel, these are LIVE highlights
(edited for time) of the 1965 German Grand Prix, shot on video, not film, for TV
broadcast. There is no commentary in this one, just the sound of screaming
1965 F1 cars. This was the raw footage that would have been used for
commentary. Jim Clark once again takes the victory, followed by Graham Hill
and Dan Gurney. Great sound, and nice, clear b&w footage.
|1967 Lotus Documentary - "9 Days In Summer" - (48 min) - color
Another gem from the vaults, very clear color footage of the 1967 F1 season, focusing
on the Lotus Team of Jim Clark and Graham Hill, and the dominant Lotus 49.
|1969 British Grand Prix - (23 min) - b&w
Another tremendous piece of footage! This is LIVE coverage of the 1969 British Grand Prix
from Silverstone, shot on video for live TV. Rebroadcast from ESPN (watermark in corner)
many years ago, this is a very exciting race, with Jackie Stewart taking the win, followed by
Jacky Ickx. The rest of the field read like an entry list fom the vaunted Can-Am Series in
North America, consisting of Bruce McLaren, Denny Hulme, Chris Amon, Jackie Oliver, and
Vic Elford. Also in the race were Jochen Rindt, Graham Hill, and John Surtees.
