Originally titled "Ingenuity In Action", this rare film provides excellent color footage from the NHRA Nationals held in Detroit, Michigan. 1962 Winternationals - (color - 8 min) Condition (VG) - A color film with highlights from the 1962 Winternationals in Pomona, California. 1963 NHRA U.S. Nationals - (color - 11 min) Condition (VG+) - Footage of Don Garlits, Connie Kalitta, Dave Strickler's "Old Reliable", Ramchargers and "The Lawman" Dodges, Jim Wangers and the Royal Pontiac SD421 Catalina, even a quick clip of the Royal Pontiac 421SD Tempest Wagon coming in on the trailer! 1964 NHRA U.S. Nationals - (color - 26 min) Condition (VG+) - Includes a good deal of footage of the pit area and the staging lanes, as well as Stock and Jr. Stock races. | 1966 NHRA U.S. Nationals - (color - 24 min) Condition (VG+) - Originally called "Race Against Time", this film was sponsored by Hurst Performance. Footage includes the Hurst Performance Clinic, "The Munsters Coach" making a pass, Gene Snow's "Rambunctious" 1965 Dodge Dart, Tasca Ford Mustang, Grumpy Jenkins with his 1966 Chevy II, and much more! 1967 NHRA World Finals - (color - 20 min) Condition (VG) - A rare film with highlights from the 1967 World Finals in Tulsa, OK. The hosts for this event were Brock Yates and "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, both clad in dark suits (and ties) in an attempt to make the sport of drag racing more respectable for TV viewers. Some good footage of Grumpy's new Camaro, and the legendary Ronnie Sox. Also includes some rare clips from the NHRA Awards ceremony held at the end of the year. 1968 NHRA U.S. Nationals - (color - 26 min) Condition (VG+) Originally titled "Drag Racer's Holiday". Includes footage of Dick Smothers and his 1968 Olds (with in-car camera), Don Prudhomme, Don Garlits, Tom McEwen, the Hurst Performance Safe-T-Center, Ronnie Sox, Shirley Shahan, Dick Landy, Grumpy Jenkins, and more! 1969 NHRA U.S. Nationals - (color - 25 min) Condition (Good-VG) - Film quality varies, but the footage is priceless! Originally titled "Tournament Of Champions", this 25 minute film shows highlights from the 1969 U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. 1969 AHRA Springnationals - (color - 6 min) Condition (Excellent) - from Bristol TN, this is a very short film which shows various highlight clips, but most of the footage is dedicated to Mickey Thompson's Mustang Mach 1 Funny Car (driven by Danny Ongais). |
